About
The Initiative for Advanced Research in Technology and the Arts (iARTA) is a new research cluster at the University of North Texas. Investigating interdisciplinary approaches to arts, criticism, and engineering, iARTA brings together faculty members from the departments of Music Composition, Music Theory, Studio Arts, Art History, Radio Television Film, Dance Theater, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering.
iARTA supports existing faculty through coordinating technological resources and facilitating collaborative research.
The research cluster is in the process of developing a journal, MOEBIUS, to act as a vehicle for presenting cutting edge critical theory surrounding the production and reception of new media and other forms of technologically mediated art.
